Finger Twist and Split
round one of testing is over. no more biology or math. round two starts monday so that means today is rest, tomorrow starts the studying all over again. at least its only english and history next week. i get a nice break before round three, spanish, which i had no intention of studying for but since i bombed math that idea has been shot out the window.
oh well i think i've done ok so far. i just want 4's so i can get that damn diploma and move on.
congratualtions to everyone who has already finished school along with all of their exams and papers.
thanks to everyone for putting up the awesome podcasts this week. those definitely help keep a bit of mental balance. looking forward to next week's installments.
now it's time to retire for a nap. got my pillow in the car and a lovely library parking lot to doze off in.

yep. definitely an o-town-er. tourist central.
As i just mentioned to Julia, the best advice i received for IB exams came from my english teacher senior year. Pens of varying diameters. It helps to keep your hands from cramping up over the four hour exam.
Good luck! They'll be over soon:-)
haha thanks for the advice. I'll put that to good use when i have to do the last part of english monday.
haha they aren't four hours long unless you have like more than one paper in a day. each paper ranges anywhere from an hour to two hours long. you usually have a paper one and paper two on the same day though so that's usually only three hours long. wow... only. IB tests are pretty ridiculous.
What?!?!?
They've gone soft on you all.
Back in the day (by which i mean, six years ago), the entire HL English exam (which every IB senior was essentially required to take), occured on the first day of testing. Four hours without so much as standing up for a break.
They've gone soft:-P
My english exam last semester was four hours :(. My attention span sucks, plus I can't stay sitting down for long. I have to do something, so towards the end, I'm all fidgety and stuff. It's crazy!
Oh and I just listened to cute is what we aim for and love their song 'curse of the curves'. =)
oh damn. it does sound like they've gotten soft. i would die if i had to take all of english on one day. i am a super nervous and fidgety person. my legs are always going a mile a minute while i am sitting. sometimes i am so nervous my hand starts to shake and so my writing sucks. a lot of times in between sentences or while i stop to think i sit there spinning my pen in between my fingers and end up throwing it, i constantly knock the papers off of my test and my stomach is always making noises. after about an hour and a half of testing i start to fall asleep even if i am on a roll with my work. i would die if i had to sit for four hours straight. how did your hand not stop working after all that writing?
aww you listened to ciwwaf? haha i love those kids. i was completely and utterly obsessed with them last year. i'm slowly getting back into them and hoping to go see them in concert if i can find the money.
Whoa, I so do what you do, I think one time I threw my pen to the other side of the room. It was so embarrassing. Oh and believe me, there was not much writing going on at all. I was constantly looking around the room staring into nothingness, playing with my ring or drawing on my paper (mind you I can't draw). Another thing I can't stand is a quiet room, makes me nervous.
Pens with varying diameters:-)
Just keep reminding yourself that in a few weeks, this will all be over. And though it seems like everything turns upon this...it really doesn't. Ultimately, nothing really changes regardless of how you do. If you get the diploma, great. If not, you go away to school next year all the same. Plus, your chances of getting the diploma this far in are pretty good - you've made it through the tough part already.
Again though - good luck! Three days before exams began senior year is about the closest i've ever been to a nervous breakdown. I still feel your pain.
hope eveything goes well, study hard, get some sleep and have fun when its all done.
bail- ha nope not over yet. english, math, and bio are done but i still have history and spanish to take. history will get done wednesday and thursday. spanish isn't until the 23rd.
