Something that Produces Results
ok everyone we can all rest easy tonight. the red sox beat the yankees 9 to 5. It was a bit scary in the top of the ninth but we pulled through. what a pleasant way to end the night.
last IB test tomorrow... espanol. yea... after four years you would think i'd know something but i don't. so now i have to learn four years of spanish in one night. I wish I had had KC's spanish teacher because then I might have actually paid attention and maybe even learned something.
have a lovely tuesday everyone.

¡Buena suerte! on your Spanish test.
I'm studying up on Spanish by listening to Shakira, watching Spanish language cable TV & Spanish language movies.
;-)
Good luck on your spanish test Fainty!
i almost got learn spanish in your car at the library but see when i hear spanish my eyes just get really heavy because it's too hard for my brain to process and translate so i just get tired. thank god it's only a two and a half hour test. anymore and I would die. I should have had telemundo on all day or something but instead bummed around on here.
but hey thanks everyone. I'm sure I'll do fine. I mean I had to have learned something in the past four years.
hey fainty...i am sorry for missing you, i was testing it out while checking your blog last night. it was an oversight on my part.
even though you already listened consider this your PERSONAL PIMP OUT for the SISTAcast!
hey thanks everyone. spanish went quite well. it was way easier than all of the practice tests we did in class. the essay wasn't too bad either. IB is over and so is high school. It's a good day.
Congratulations on the end of IB/school. A senior gave me a cupcake today in celebration of spanish being her last test also. You deserve a cupcake too.
Oh...and Red Sox vs. Yankees...hellllllll yeeaaaahhhhh!
aww thanks. haha cupcakes. I wish someone had made cupcakes for today. instead they all went out to eat afterwards but i went home because i was beyond tired.
too bad those damn yankees beat my sox today. it's because i didn't watch the game :(

That's awesome that your test went well. And I'm sorry about the Yanks victory. I'm a Cardinals fan, so I don't normally root for the Sox, but as they say, I'm a fan of the Cards and whoever is playing the Yankees. :) Happy summer!
haha i work the same way. fan of the sox and whoever is playing against the yankees. love to see those guys lose.
haha. i'm not a big sports fan at all. i only enjoy watching my sox play. and i only really enjoy it when they play the yankees. it's so intense. when it comes to other sports i really get bored well except for hockey. hockey owns.
don't worry. being clueless about sports isn't always a bad thing. i actually get really bothered when people talk about sports. haha you only know about your sports. nothing wrong with that.
oh man. what exactly do you mean by how does baseball work? like each batter gets three strikes and then they are out or four balls and they walk, meaning they get to go to first base. three outs ends the inning. umm do you want like an in depth explanation? I can do one for you if you'd like.
the main thing you must know is this: boston is the best and the yankees suck. its the biggest rival in baseball. the curse of the great bambino was broken when the sox won the world series. greatest day of my life followed by the alcs game seven when johnny damon hit a grand slam. wow ok sorry.
ok here it goes a bit more of the breakdown. i'm still trying here. so you have the home team and the away team. the away team always bats first so that way the home team has the last chance to win at the end of the game if need be.
so the away team is up to bat. i broke down the batting for you. you have three strikes and you're out or you get the four balls and walk. so the batter can either strike out or hit anything from a single to a homerun. everytime a runner from the team crosses home plate the team gets a run. now once the away team gets three outs, the home team comes up to bat and it's the same thing. There are nine innings in the game unless at the end of the ninth they are tied. Then they keep going into extra innings. So it's a nine inning battle to get the most runs. In every inning there is a top and a bottom. The top of the inning is when the away team is up to bat and the bottom is when the home team is up to bat. Now say if at the end of the top of the ninth, the home team is winning the game is over because they don't need to get up to bat again but if they are losing the bottom of the ninth is their last chance to win.
the white lines that go down the left and right side of the field are the foul lines so if the ball is hit outside of those lines it's called a foul ball. A foul ball counts as a strike against the batter. If the batter pops up (hits the ball into the air) and it's in foul territory the fielding team can catch that and then the batter is out. That's the only time a foul ball is somewhat like a live ball.
ok and for the pitchers there are a bunch of different pitches that they can throw. curve, slider, sinker, rise, fast ball (both two seam and four seam), change up, fork and umm yea there are others.
the batter will then hit like a grounder, line drive, pop fly or just a deep hit to the outfield.
some terms to know: RBI is runs batted in which is when the batter hits the ball and someone on the team crosses the plate. he's just batted in a run (RBI) ERA is for pitchers. It's their earned run average. how many runs have been earned against them while they were pitching.
ok so i hope that was a little better. there are a lot more rules to the game but its basically just a battle to see who can get the most runs throughout the nine innings. i'm not really big on baseball unless it's the sox and i'm only really interested when they play the yankees.
